As I promised..
while I am filling an order for nook, I am getting distracted with all sorts of thoughts. thinking about what to make for "not so little any more O" for the coming spring. He will need whole heaps of bigger size everything! Those pants I made when he was about 2 years old were worn as shorts last summer so it is not bad, at least he wore them so many times( warm weather lasts really long here in QLD and he wore them in Japanese summers too).
Also thinking of gardening. At the moment, we do not get much sunlight but we found some strawberry flowers yesterday there and I read in food connect news letter, strawberries are to be in boxes!
Three bulbs of hyacinth sitting on the window sill are looking happy. I can see a tiny green shoot at the top.
So much to learn about gardening. Trick is to know the weather here. It is just so different from where I grew up.
Also I am loving this book, きょうはちょうどよいひより kyou wa choudo yoi hiyori.
As I was searching some images of the book on line, I found this second hand book store in Melbourne and from there, I was taken to her site. Rain project, compost to art...very inspiring.
Going back to the book topic, kyou wa choudo yoi hiyori is one of the books we get from おーすとらりあこどもとしょかん which is a private book loaning service and they come and deliver the books to us. We usually get 20 books from them. From those 20 books, little O, me and big O find so many great books. All the books I read when I was little, all the books I did not know.......And one of my favorite at the moment is "kyou wa choudo yoi hiyori". The story is about three sisters living in a house( with some chooks and a cat) at the bottom of a mountain. One day, one of the sister get some empty jars and wash them in the river in front of their house. Ok, this probably does not attract everyone very much but to me, very attractive. Some chooks wandering around the yard( we miss having chooks), a nice looking green mountain, river( could easily flooded though.....) anyway the sisters are going to get some wild strawberries from the mountain soon, that is exactly what I was expecting after looking at the page where one of the sister started to wash jars. Jars. Jars. I love Jars. I love putting things in jars. Love to do more of that. To preserve seasonal fruits. It's like putting memories of picking some food into jars as well and enjoy them later.
anyway bye for now. we will be picking my parents from the airport. It is going to be fun. and yes, if you are wondering, there are some books coming with them :)
PS Little O enjoying a book about the sun( he is into the sun, the moon and the earth at the moment) This book was found at lifeline book fest and came with records!

books and jars, we should have making jam day sometime?

Yes, I love the idea of sharing books. Not just it is so convenient but kids also learn not to tear books. Wouldn't it be wonderful next next generation share all the books?
